The Sweet Net should hang 1" below the mouth when properly adjusted.
If too tight; loosen the breakaway halter or give more slack in the "buckle rope."
If too loose; tighten up the halter or pick up an additional loop on the Sweet Net with "buckle rope."
I'm concerned the Sweet Net will get caught on fence posts or branches.
Using a breakaway (breaking point at crown piece or under buckle) halter is the utmost important thing!
Also, making sure your equine partner has a "horse friendly" turnout area.
Yes! We recommend checking that your horse doesn't have loose shoes or clinches before turning out as well as having them wear soft flexible bell boots.
How can my horse eat hay through the Sweet Net?
Horses use their prehensile upper lip to search for food. Depending on the ring size for you choose, it allows the upper lip to do such searching and bringing hay to the mouth.
Can my horse eat out of a big square or round bale that is netted?
Yes, you may want to choose one size larger for the ring opening. I've noticed my netted horse clean-up what other horses drop, too.
Make it positive!
1. Desensitize by gently rubbing the muzzle with your soft hand.
2. Feed a carrot piece through the ring every time you put it on.
3. Allow your horse to wear it for shorter periods of time. Work up to 12 hours ON and 12 hours OFF
The Sweet Net is machine washable with mild detergent and air dry. No bleach please!
The Sweet Net will tighten up over time.
We all have spent hours in the pasture looking for a lost boot or fly mask! Our signature carrot color is easier to see if lost in a field!
What is the Sweet Net made of?
Each Sweet Net has a welded metal ring at the grazing opening. The net material is made with a soft flexible Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight-Polyethylene (same material used for the next generation bullet proof vests) for ultimate strength and minimal stretch.
